Cirque du Soleil: Totem

It's my second circus show (the last time I've been to one was during my trip to China exactly a year ago) but my first by Cirque. Definitely not my last! The last time they were in Singapore was 10 years ago. Some of you may think that circus performances all seem to be the same but what is unique about Totem is the storyline behind every acrobatic act.

Totem is also the first Cirque show to use video content so extensively. Projectors are used to transform the stage for each act - from a swamp to a volcanic island, to a starry sky and many other natural world landscapes that set the scene and complement the performances. Totem traces the journey of the human species from its original amphibian state to its ultimate desire to fly. The characters evolve on a stage evoking a giant turtle, the symbol of origin for many ancient civilisations.

The entire performance was spectacular.. it was so surreal being seated there watching all the acts :') The performers were so full of life and during most of the stunts I could literally feel my jaw drop. Definitely worth your money!!! It's a 2 hour 25 minute show with a 25 minute interval in between. There is also a free photo booth service.

I was seated in A reserve but based on the size of the tent, you can definitely get a fantastic view from B & C reserve as well! Tickets to Totem by Cirque du Soleil starts from $98 and they are in Singapore till 13th December - what are you waiting for?!
